In Maine, pistol permits are issued by the State Police. 

The requirements include participation in a firearms safety training course.  Non-residents must also have a pistol permit from any other state.

1. Print the Maine application - Maine State Police
2. Complete the entire application
3. Submit the following:

Application

$60 fee

Copies of firearms permits from all other states

Copy of your birth certificate or other INS documents

Photograph - 2" x 2"

Firearms safety certificate
